Eric Doeringer @ Plush Gallery

Made it to Plush Gallery on Friday to see Brooklyn based artist Eric Doeringer's "COWBOYS" exhibition.  An exhibition of photographs inspired by Richard Prince's "Cowboy" series.  Another exhibition @ Plush that should not be missed.

Crazywood Craziness

I changed my travel plans on Friday, October 14th in order to catch Brush Muscle's exhibition at Crazywood in Huntsville.  I stopped by the gallery at 9:30am (weekday gallery hours are 9am to 5pm) after receiving assurance that the gallery would be open and it was confirmed by the gallery owner.  Well, I wasn't surprised the gallery was closed when I showed up well after the gallery should have been open.  Very disappointing.  I was disappointed that I could not see Brush Muscle's work in person instead of reproductions.

My suggestion to my friends in Brush Muscle is to be more selective where you show your work.  And my suggestion to a gallery -  even if it is an amature gallery such as Crazywood - be open during your posted hours.

My good friend Michael Wynne half of the collabrative team of Brush Muscle along with Andy Don Emmons are currently featured in an exhibition at Crazywood Art and Movement Center in Huntsville, Texas.

I will post more photos once I get to Huntsville later this week.

TEXAS GOTHIC

Visited Webb Gallery in Waxahachie today, with a great friend, to see the latest exhibition.  The exhibition included photos by Bill Daniel & Dottie Love, drawings and paintings by William S. Burroughs, Hector Alonzo Benavides, & Alice Leora Briggs, letterpress prints by Dirk Fowler, and vintage gothic paintings, photos, and bottle whimseys.

If you haven't, take a trip to Waxahachie and spend a couple of hours in this wonderful art environment.  You won't be sorry.
