Oliver Francis Gallery opened the second solo exhibition of
gallery artist
Francisco Moreno,
Dormant Subversion, on October 6th. In his paintings,
and "paint-stallations", Moreno confronts anxieties about the role of painting
in the information age. Using media saturated iconography and news headlines as
source material, Moreno explores the contradictions of American identity, raises
questions about the value of labor, and considers how living in the media age of
shapes our understanding of personal and collective history.
